Watersheds Ecosystem Conservation – WEC was founded in 2018 by Jacob Mwanduka, formerly with FOMAWA-Friends of Mau Watershed. WEC helps schools and communities plant trees in the Mau Forest and helps establish commercial forestry projects in this Mara River headwaters. Jacob’s educational outreach emphasizes the forest as a lifeline for Mau residents, downstream communities and Mara-Serengeti iconic wildlife populations. His project also extends to the arid and semi-arid lands in South-Eastern Kenya.
