Gerald Nellestijn


Gerry is the the Upper Columbia River Basin’s Founding President and Coordinator of the Salmo Watershed Streamkeepers Society in British Columbia, Canada. Gerry has received many awards for Ecosystem Excellence, Volunteer Service, and being a Hometown Hero on Canada’s Earth Day. In 2007 Gerry and three fisheries biologists hosted NWNL on a float down the free-flowing Salmo River, a Columbia River tributary full of rainbow trout and shaded by ancient cedar forests. In 2008 NWNL met with Gerry again in Salmo to discuss watershed advocacy, and then in 2014 at a 2-day Spokane WA conference on Columbia River transboundary issues.
